Carpal tunnel syndrome – a quick overview of the different treatments
1 in 100 people are considered affected by the problem of the syndrome carpal tunnel, at some point in time. It is affecting people of all age groups and is very common among women between 30 and 60.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is considered as a work-related risk. This problem can be reduced or eliminated to avoid or reduce strenuous activities which strain on the fingers, hand or wrist.
The carpal tunnel is a channel located on the palm side of the wrist. Wrist bones are more or less formed in the shape of a semicircle and the carpal ligament does a roof over them. This passage that appears below the 'ceiling' which is called the carpal tunnel. The wrist tendons that control finger and median nerve pass through this tunnel.
Tunnel syndrome carpal is actually the result of continuous movement of the wrist that puts pressure on the nerves located in the carpal tunnel. Refrain from activities that could increase the symptoms and keep your wrist in a resting position for example in a splint to avoid additional damage to the distortion or torsion assist the patient to get some relief.
Exercises for carpal tunnel syndrome are specifically designed to relieve stress in the carpal tunnel. These exercises are supposed to be held all day at intervals required, including if symptoms are not apparent.
The majority of cases can be cured with previous years simple acute cases however, require a treatment extensive.
There are other healing techniques and methods that can provide relief from carpal tunnel syndrome. Anti-inflammatory pills or bags ice may provide temporary relief, but will not help cure the disease.
If these do-it-yourself treatments are not always resolved is good to see a doctor. If ice packs and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory pain relief after the symptoms have reached a stage that requires medical attention and consultation of a physician necessary.
There are severe cases where surgery becomes essential, though this is only a small minority of patients. Modern methods surgery and treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome should only take a few hours. Scientists are investigating for some alternative therapies such as Aura-Soma or acupuncture to avoid this problem of carpal tunnel syndrome.

A large number of cases can be cured with exercise, but acute cases require comprehensive treatment.
