Why oh why there is no World Cup Test Cricket?
We have toilets of an international day, 20-20, but no toilet test Cricket. Do you agree that we need to have a cricket WC every 4 years? Similarly, ODI. There must be a bath of cricket between India, Australia, South Africa, England, Pakistan, W. Indies, S. Lanka, New Zealand.
not a World Cup, but a world Test Cricket League would be a more realistic idea. That would consist of 8 test playing nations (proof of state of Zimbabwe and Bangladesh would be permanently revoked ie 8 Test nations remain). Annually, each nation would play a single test WTCL against every nation on WTCL round-robin. That would be 7 games for each team-by-year. Each team will play some of their home games and some away. When I say "year" I mean within a calendar year. The following year, reversing the legs are played year past (ie, to become away games home games this year and vice versa). These two calendar years are a WTCL SINGLE SEASON. Points are granted for victories and points + bonus points are also awarded. In other words would work like most national championship first-class cricket championship unless each extends over two years. In addition, there is no end game. It is totally a round-robin format. (the above is not my original idea, but I read somewhere)
