What color socks do I wear with jeans and white trainers?

My sneakers have a white base, but most are in a design blue and light gray. What white socks also can wear with jeans (both in medium blue and dark blue)? Can I go with colors darker like brown or Navy Blue? Should I go with white? This is for use in winter weather (cold and snow), so I need socks haircut, at least in length.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really can not stand the ankle or ankle socks. Anyway, to answer your question: if your jeans are long and usually do not show your sock or show a little, then have fun with your socks! No matter what you wear, use it only makes you happy. If half hot looking thinner, looks brand Smart Wool. They are a bit expensive, but wool socks are very warm that are almost as thin as a pair of cotton socks.
