Sensory Autism

Sensory Autism
I heard about weighted blankets autism and other sensory problems people with similar ideas? Thanks?

I can not pay a Weighted Blanket – I would have to order from abroad. The concept seems perfect for someone I know who uses a similar idea cusions sitting under piles, beneath a mattress, etc all for the sense of weight. Does anyone know of any other similar to this – maybe the laptops that could be used during the day? Thanks

I would recommend that you find an old blanket (maybe a thrift store if none can be used there) or a leaf or large pieces of material, and basically sewing dry beans or rice in them. What I mean is that ideally you want to sew two pieces of some kind of fabric together, with beans or rice between the layers. You have to make additional lines of stitches through it to keep the content to change too. You can not wash it. [We could do another cover for him that can be washed, however. It need not be very great, I think. It does not take a lot of excess and normal blankets do. You can make a vest loaded in the same way, basically, but you can wash it, if you make the pockets of the vest than a bag of beans or rice can enter. You'll want to keep the bags closed with what the person is less intrigued by: velcro, zippers, buttons, brooches ... Alternatively, if the person goes to school, school to ask if they can borrow one, often made. The person receiving services probably (hopefully) a source of the community. The one in my state offers some form of home care, support groups, etc. If the person receiving services like this, it is probable, they can often provide weighted vests and things, too. At least you can use for a while and decide whether it is worth trying to make one or saving up to buy one. Alsoooo ... The community services are sometimes the funds can be used to buy things, but you have to fill out a form and have it approved. Sometimes you can get the same benefits of tight clothing. It is 100% dependent children. I have been around children wearing costumes neoprene under his normal clothes. :] I would go through and get ideas www.abilitations.com. They are expensive, as all suppliers of special needs, but perhaps you see some things affordable, or at least get the wheels turning. After all that, do not be surprised if what the person is already using what he / she like best …
