What is the best, cheapest, most efficient moped/scooter I can buy in Lexington, Kentucky?
I recently got a job throwing papers and I am spending way more money on gas than I am used to. I am contemplating buying a moped to aid in my carrier business. (Still have yet to figure out how I shall handle the papers. Any suggestions?!?) I need something 50cc or less due to licensing and insurance and all that is not required.
I am looking to spend no more than $1000 dollars, if that. What kind should I buy? Does anyone have an good testimonials about where is a good place to purchase one? Bad testimonials would help too. ;]
If you want to pay less than $1,000.00 then your best bet is to look in the classified adds in several newspapers for a used one. Yamaha, Honda have many good gas mileage scooters, There are off brand electric bicycles and scooters and mopeds but those are probably not very good for what you want. If you do nt want to buy insurance or get a license then I am sorry to say that you will have to get a bicycle. any motorized scooter/moped/ etc that is street legal requires a motorcycle license and inspection sticker, registration which is peanuts compared to tickets. A bicycle is about the only thing that you will not have to license and insure. There may be a motorized bicycle for about the price you want to pay but it will not go very fast probably only about 15 miles an hour.
I do not know about now days, but when I was throwing papers back in 1965 we had special bags that were saddle bag like that you threw over your rear fender of your bicycle or motorcycle and put the papers in each side but you had to throw from one side then the other or your bag would get lopsided and fall off.
