Is it safe for irrigation of the sinuses of a dog?
My dog just sprayed right in the face by a skunk. I say it is in the nose. It's miserable. I NeilMed nasal rinse bottle and packets of saline. Is it safe to use this method to flush the nose of my dog? Will it help to give some relief? Should I use tap water versus saline mixture? I asked my husband and he agreed that it is a good idea. Nasal Systems dogs are much more complex than people. But I'm glad I asked. I was not going to do something I was not, t insurance before receiving other views. I'll try the wet towel method. Please disregard the original question, but feel free to add your advice to Get Rid of the smell / to make my dog feel better. RM4183, I tried the towel method wet, and he wanted nothing to do with him. He was frightened. I did what let me do and I hope that helped a little. Thanks for the advice. I think it is a trauma enough for tonight, but tomorrow, who is receiving the tomato juice bath.
Well … I water jet or anything, not intended for dogs to your dogs nose. First, even more irritating to your dog, secondly, this is not the kind of thing you want your dog to the possibility of inhaling. dogs get sprayed by skunks all the time. you can either take him to the vet in the morning to be cleaned and checked, or you can simply do the old tomato juice bath. if he got up the nose, I would take a warm damp cloth (not soaking wet) and gently wash your face with it and keep it in your face for a few seconds for can inhale steam to clarify a bit, then right and cold cloth right after Pat gently to the cold to relieve some irritation. I do this with my puppy a couple of times a week because he has sinus problems and always has those crunchy tears down his face and he just puts his head in his hand lol and complains about how it must feel good and relieve to some extent
