How can I manage my fear of public speaking?

I am taking a Public Speaking class in college right now and today we had a speech and I actually walked out! I was that nervous. I talked to my teacher later and she told me I could not make it up. I need to do two more speeches to pass the class and I don’t want to walk out again.

I used to be and still am pretty scared of being in front of large groups of people. Basically, give yourself pep talks at home and change the way you act around your friends (that’s what i did). Be one of those most outstanding people and share more about yourself.

In class, you can either talk to a space in the wall to avoid some of the unnerving eye contact, or pick a friend. You can talk to him/her before the speech and ask them to smile and look encouraging. It helps me during my speeches
