Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines are designed to provide air for patients at a specific prescribed pressure through tubes and masks. Traditionally, a CPAP nasal mask seals around the nose and stays in place using full headgear. These can be uncomfortable for patients due to pressure from the headgear, air leakage, limited sleep positions, skin irritation and noise.
