How can I just get a straight answer from a doctor?
According to my symptoms I am almost certain that I have osteoarthritis. I have seen a doctor and they just keep telling me there not sure, to make another appointment. they’ve taken about 6 tubes of blood and still don’t know for sure if thats what it is. they say “I think it could be that” I think?!?! what kind of doctor is this?! I think they are just trying to make money off of me, I have to pay $20 each time just to go there for them to tell me nothing. How can I find out for sure and just get a quick straight answer about this so that I can know how to take care of my health?
There are many aspects to this problem. The doctor wants to make sure by doing all investigations before he/she commits to give a definite diagnosis. Till then it’s a matter of ‘thinking’ only. But, at the same time, you must be given symptomatic treatment to relieve you of your troubles and to make sure you are comfortable. I hope you are being given that, if not, you may ask for it. But you can’t compel the doctor to give a hurried diagnosis.
Although, frankly I feel diagnosis of osteoarthritis should not take so long.
