Juice in the diabetic diet?
I'm the type 1 and the use of a pump, so I'm very good at counting carbohydrates. I tryinp (key word trying of) stop drinking pop. As a result I am drinking more juice. I make sure to buy 100% juice without added sugar. My problem is that sugar in the juice is so simple that I burn through it before the insulin can touch it. Of course, if you do not take any I get very high. I tried playing w / insulin dose different. I'm always high or low. Please do not suggest that the normal water, I hate it! And I can only drink so much Crystal Lite!
In regard to the level of glucose, Juice is no different or better than soda. Carbohydrates are carbohydrates. Try the "Light" juice blends that Welch's and Tropicana offer. They usually have the half the carbohydrates. Some other options are not carbohydrates Propel Lemonade Minute was light, Fuze (raspberry, cranberry is rich!).
