This really is something you MUST discuss with your GP. Usual management is one of the older NSAIDs that also reduce Uric Acid levels such as Naproxen, this might need to be given with a PPI such as omeprazole as the NSAID dose required is often very high and you may need gastric protection.
If you are prone to frequent severe attacks then allopurinol might need to be started at the same time and then left on as a maintenance prophylactic to reduce the risk of further attacks.
Changes in diet are often suggested to avoid purines but seldom prevent definitively.
