I think I have a bone spur under the ball of my foot, and is very painful!?

I went to the doctors but they just offered injections steroids, I do not fancy as it does not undo the problem. The shoes I wear shoes that are flat with 2 pairs of mens templates, and is still very painful to walk. Someone told me I had one foot in the heel stimulating removed with a laser, but can not find any information. Can anyone help!
