Help understanding response to the question "Can a tenant be evicted without a hearing?

What does "ex parte order" mean? The questions and answers listed below is a copy and paste the lord of the land of Ontario and Tenant. I do not understand what it means to the answer. Question: A tenant can be evicted without a hearing? Answer: Yes, for some types of applications of an ex parte order may be issued without a hearing.

Ex parte means "of a party." It is when one party, here the owner goes to court without notifying the other party, here the tenant, and asks that the judge order the tenant removed. If the court grants an ex parte order, usually something very serious has happened. Furthermore, the court usually sets a date for a hearing in the near future for both sides to present their cases.
