Ankle sprain recovery (in person)?

hello, I sprained my ankle playing football on Sunday and left unable to walk. I went to the hospital to see what was wrong and he says I have bad ligament damage. I've been doing sports since and I am using an elastic bandage ankle support. Just wondering how long until I can play football, hockey, tennis again? I walk on it without too much pain, the doctor said it should be 2-6 weeks of recovery, I have to leave time to recover internally so it is not too weak? I do not want it to happen again. Help much appreciated, thanks. Jamie:)

it will be a while before it is 100 percent. Even when I recovered, I sometimes feel the pain a little.
