Asthma and other breathing conditions can really make life a pain. Doing a nebulizer at home is really the only option when operating the compressor units. They are loud and bulky. Well, Omron has come out with the Omron MicroAir Vibrating Mesh Nebulizing System NE-U22V system that will change all that for you. I’ve been using it for a little less than a year. Here’s my review of the unit.
I’ve had severe case of asthma through my life. Last year, however, I had a bizarre set of issues that made me get a nebulizer for breathing treatments. I opted for the Omron NE-U22V. I am really glad that I did. This thing is tiny. It fits in the eyeglasses sized container. The other thing about this unit is that it is silent. I kid you not. The reservoir has a metal pole inside it. That metal pole contacts a metal mesh top. And that metal mesh top vibrates super fast.
What you get out of that is super fine mist. I’ve never seen mist this fine. That allows for great inhalation of the medicine in the reservoir. I use rechargeable batteries and it takes a long time to wear them down. This thing is ultra portable because of its size. The delivery system was a bit rough, my started heart pounding so fast (as if I just ran a marathon) everytime I used it. . All you have to do is close your eyes and blow on the top to get the liquid off. Once you do that, the fine mist will start again. To minimize this problem, don’t exhale out the mouth piece.
Cleaning is a breeze. Just make sure you use distilled water, not only for operation, but also for cleaning the mesh unit. Normal water can contain sediment that would render it useless.
The Omron NE-U22v nebulizer is actually considered the best nebulizer on the market today. It uses 2 standard ‘AA’ batteries, It’s really so compact that it can be put in a pocket or purse with ease. Even kids can use it and carry it in a backpack. Even though it is tiny, it packs a punch as it creates dense fumes to penetrate the lungs. One great thing that people say about it is that this handheld portable nebulizer never wastes even a drop of medication. It can be used in any position,laying, standing, sitting, any position. It also uses Vibrating Mesh Technology, so there is no noisy compressor. It is totally silent!. Absolutely no ‘vibration’. Perfect for quiet places or when on a drive where you want to take a discreet treatment without having to plug in.
