Cleansing Detox
I would like to hear some opinions on colon cleansing/ detox programs that I have been reading about.?
Does anyone believe that all the pictures of build up that is released could be real? I wonder if this is just quackery?
Sounds uncomfortable also. Will there be any real benefits?
In my humble opinion (based on many years as a nurse) they are all bull and a criminal waste of good money. If you eat and live reasonably your body does not need detox. Its the latest buzzword for making money. The liver and kidneys do all the detoxing your body needs and if they are functioning (and you are being detoxified) 24/7.
Colonic cleansing washes the contents of your bowels out. This rids the body of all the good bacteria you need to effectively digest your food. It can also be dangerous (in fact it can be fatal) when done badly. Detox usually does the same emptying of the bowel through powerful laxatives. Not good for your bowels or your bottom!
