First Christmas with the dogs. Can a fresh tree is toxic?
This is the first Christmas we will celebrate with our newly adopted dogs (Chi & Westie). Traditionally I've always bought a 6 "fresh Noble Fir, but since the adoption of the girls who have read (and unfortunately experience) with the toxins of the pines (the Westie took a bite of a freshly fallen green pineapple – the vet loves me). Christmas trees are toxic? Could your needles fallen be toxic? Should I skip the entire tree, since we only want to eat handmade ornaments from my great grandmother anyway? I would like a tree, but not at the expense of my dogs. Any suggestions? I am the Alpha absolutely at home. Do not worry there. As I said, this is the first Christmas with the dogs, and because my Westie mix was sick of playing with the pineapple (because I did not know better), I was trying to educate myself. Do not bend to the will of my animals. It called being a responsible pet owner!
