Underwear is optional in the magical world culturally? (Harry Potter related, of course)?
I'm sure you all remember Archie the old wizard in the Quidditch World Cup, wearing pajamas women, when asked to dress like a muggle, because as he said "I like a bit of breeze soldiers around me. You may be right. But as you said, could be "optional". In "Deathly Hallow" before leaving the burrow, Hermione tells Ron that she has almost finished with the packaging and is waiting for briefs to come from the laundry – which means that Ron definitely used, and is a thoroughbred (despite a traitor in the blood), and generally clueless about the Muggle world. It could also mean that things have changed over the generations since Archie was a wizard too old, and things can have been different in his day.
