Quad Core vs Dual Core?
Im debate between getting a 3 GHz dual core processor 2.3 GHz quad core processor based on the just thoose specs alone (without FSB or cache) a witch would you choose and why? quad core is like having 4 processors that divide the work?
Ok really depends. Yes four fundamentals "could" divide the work, and therefore more people will say "four key = 4 * 2.3 = 9.2, which is better than dual core = 2 * 3 = 6 "However this is only the case if the work program has multi-threading works perfectly (most not really). Overall, this is my rule: If it does so only for normal household use, a good game, Internet surfing … dual core etc then it would be the way forward. However, if you will be doing things like video editing, sound editing, running BOINC or something like that, then the quad-core would be better as are applications that can properly use a quad core.
