Bar of soap in bed help with arthritis?

I have heard that if you put a bar of soap in between the sheets of your bed, that will help with sore knees, arthritis etc.Anybody know more about this?

I have heard the bar of soap trick used for patients in nursing homes who have restless leg syndrome. It has had some success of reducing the symptoms of RLS. I have never heard of it being used for arthritis. Why the bar of soap works, I do not know, but they place one bar at each corner of the bottom half of the bed under the fitted sheet.
