How I can use my computer as an alarm clock? Is there a tool like an alarm clock mp3?

I've seen some programs that let you play a favorite tune in a known time, an alarm clock in esscence. However, you have to leave your computer on all night, I'm willing to do this because is a great waste of electricity. Is there any way I can have my computer automatically boot or something or a low-cost alarm clock that functions as an mp3 player so you can wake to your favorite songs?

You can put the computer into hibernation, then use the event handler to play the tune appointed time. The team comes out of hibernation for the mentioned event, and you wake up.
