Is it unethical to forclose on your house because you want to?
I have friends that need to forclose on some property they tried to build on. They also don’t like the city they moved to 3 years ago and want to move back to where they moved from. They have an adjustable mortgage that changes in 3 years, and they are choosing to walk away from this house too. They have steady income and can afford to live where they do. Is it unethical what they’re doing?
Not as unethical as not smart, they are going to have trouble finding another lender after they foreclosed on a property, and 1/2 of what they foreclosed on will be added as extra credit on there taxes this year like if they owe 100,000 then the govt will add 50,000 as extra income putting them in a hire tax bracket causing them to pay more taxes, you should tell them to talk with someone before allowing foreclosure. They need to find out the consequences of there actions before. Why don’t they try to sell first? Or do a sale where they sale back to the bank or a bank for amount owed?
